Sens Are Talking To Sykora

Of course, it all depends what we get back for Heatley, if we happen to trade him soon that is. But one thing we do now know is that Bryan Murray has been talking to Petr Sykora about coming here. The winger had 25 goals last year on his way to winning the Stanley Cup for the Pens.

The Ottawa Sun reports that Murray has been in contact with his representitives and would like to bring him in. It seems the other possibility would be bringing back Mike Comrie. Either one would help the scoring loss of #15.

So interesting turn of events. I didn't see Sykora as a possiblity at all but I do like him as a player. So how about it Sens fans, do you want Sykora or Comrie?

Neither. I really don't think either would help; it's time we allow the young guys (Zubov, Regin, Smith) a chance to prove they belong.

Sykora would be a great addition. Absolutely.

Experience with winning multiple cups, and a sure 20 goal scorer (how many of those did we have last year). That stuff cannot be taught or expected from the rookies. If it is for a reasonable amount, Sykora would be excellent.

My pick would be Comrie. Although he is small and like many other Senators, his last year was one to forget, I'd still go with him. Comrie has heart, grit and often can find a way to the net. He played most of the season in a stinkhole and finished it up with the SENS who were just trying to stay above water. He'll rebound and play well this year.
