What a crazy game that was, wow!
The emotions of a whole season, in one game. It was a rollercoaster ride, from start to end. It was great to see them battle back, over and over again, but it was also awful to see them squander their comeback, by taking stupid, undisciplined penalties time and time again. It was frustrating being in the crowd, it was exciting, but in the end, the result was just. We didn't deserve the win, but managed to win a point.
Things we now know:
-Alexandre Picard is awful, like really bad. I've been telling anyone who listens that he's a garbage. I know many were praising him because he gets points, but watch him play. To me he's an AHLer. He was directly responsible for the first THREE goals. How fast can Brian Lee get here?
-The team has heart. It was amazing to see the team come back to tie it on 3 seperate occassions. We didn't get the win tonight, but this effort might go a long way for the rest of the season. It's good to know they won't quit and have the ability to make a comeback. Of course, if we had of played better, the comeback wouldn't have been needed.
-Pascale Leclaire is good, like really good. Perhaps the OT winner was semi questionable, but it was on a 4 on 3 PP, with lots of ice. It's nice to know we finally have a bonafide star goalie.
-The team shot itself in the foot, time after time, with ridiculous, undisciplined penalties. Very frustrating to watch, when they easily could have been prevented.
Well what is there to say really? On one hand, it was one of the most entertaining games I had been to in years. On the other hand, we just lost to a crappy team and gave up 6 goals to the lowest scoring team in the league.
I suppose for now, let's go glass half full and be thankful for the point gained.
I expect a better effort on Saturday against the B's. Expect Triple C to practice the squad hard tomorrow, he can't be pleased with them at all.
