What a suprisingly exciting game. Isn't that always the way it goes. Go in with low expectations and you are usually pleasantly surprised. So now our winning streak is at 1, but it's 5 of 6 at least. Don't worry though, we still took a lot of penalties again, keeping that streak of 23 games going without breaking a sweat.Other thoughts from the game:
-Good to see Kovie back, man is he talented
-Brian Elliott played great. I am less worried about losing Pascal
-WTF was Kuba thinking, trying to shoot a slapper at the end of the game that nearly cost us
-Will we ever learn to be more disciplined?
-Antoine Vermette is still as clumsy and awkward as he ever was
-So a Blue Jacket is a star wrapped in an American Flag commet? Bush logo
-Ruutu has played a great couple of games
-So we can't sellout the Leafs, Pens or Caps but we can Columbus?
-Shannon was a beast tonight
-I still hate Picard. I assure you if you paid me a million a year that I would be able to shoot the puck into an empty net
-Rick Nash is really good. Like really good.
-Will we ever score an empty netter again?
Good to get back to our winning ways, especially with Neil, Fisher, Donovan and Volchenkov still out of the lineup. Good news is on the way with the A-train likely to return on Saturday in Boston.
With the win, the Sens reclaim top spot in the Northeast. It was a nice performance by an undermanned team and shows we can play through injuries.
Thoughts?
