Death Penalties

It all happened so quick. We were winning and everything was goign fine and then bam, it was over. I mean we were winning right? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills or something. The worst part is we had this game and the reason we lost is because we didn't play smart. We're the 2nd most penalized team in the NHL this season and tonight it cost us, big time. We will miss these 2 points later on this year.

I don't even really know what to say or how to fix it. At least our collapse was well balanced, with multiple Sens contributing to the embarassing loss. I'm just so disappointed in our lack of discipline. It's a joke honestly and has been there since the first game this season. I think Clouston needs to start sitting people down who take bad penalties routinely, to show the team that if you put the team in a bad spot, you will be held responsible and everyone will know it.

When you lose 3-2 after being up 2-0 and all of their goals come on the PP, hmmmmm what could it be? We aren't good enough to give away all these chances on the man advantage to teams, especially ones like NJ, who would obviously jump at the chance, with what little scoring they have.

I guess in the end, I just don't understand how such elite players can be so dumb. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know not to take uncalled for penalties time after time after time after time. We the fans deserve better. Hopefully they will smarten up and fast.

Thoughts?

I completely agree, also interesting fact of the day: Pascal Leclaire has the 43rd best save percentage in the NHL to go along with his 43rd best goals against average.

BS, plain BS. Worst is we lost becuase of SHITTY GOALTENDING - nothing more! Yes the penalties hurt us, but goals 2 &3 were totally stopable, even Leclaire knows it as evident by his post game interview.

Why don't people in Ottawa call a spade a spade here & take the kid gloves off with respect to Leclaire: PL started the season strong but has been crap lately. His rankings have dropped to 19th in the NHL right now (below average)and his sv% has dropped below 0.90 (0.87).

Its been so long since we have had a credible goaltender in Ottawa I think we all want this guy to be our saviour - but the numbers and results don't lie. If were not for those 2 weak ass goals - the NJD's would be spotting us those two points, not the other way around. He was also not as good as Niittymaki on thursday night.

Hopefully PL will regain his earlier form from the start of the season.

What PL not good, Kovalev not good, Cheechoo terrible, 4th liners vastly over payed. Our drafting has been crap. Why is Bryan Murray still our GM? I never did get that switch after we finally had some playoff success.

Hey idiot,

Emery has a contract with Philly. They are the ones paying his salary not Ottawa. Emery's buy-out was paid in full the year they bought him out.

Not true engin, yes they pay his salary but we are still paying him part of his salary for a few more years
