GDP #16: Emery V Sens, I mean Philly

The day has finally arrived when we take on our former netminder, oh and a really good team (my pick to win the cup). We all know we've had some great battles with the Flyers over the years, I mean who could forget the game with the most penalties of all time or the shutout streak from Patrick Lalime in the playoffs. But tonight is a new test, as we take on one of the best teams in the NHL.

The Flyers are stacked at every position. How would you like to have Daniel Briere, Simon Gagne, Jeff Carter, Scottie Upshall and Mike Richards as your seasoned forwards, to go along with younsters James Van Riemsdyk, Claude Girouz and Kanata's own Darrol Powe. That's a pretty nice group of forwards isn't it?

Next up is defence with Kimo Timonen, Matt Carle, Braydon Coburn and oh ya, some Chris Pronger guy. This team is downright scary is you ask me. An amazing combination of size, speed, skill and grit. I sure hope we don't get in their way come playoff time.

On the Sens side of things, a few changes as Jesse Winchester and Shean Donovan get to watch this one from the press box as healthy scratches. Winchester I get but call me crazy, but I think we are a better team with Dono in the lineup and frankly, he's earned a spot with his play so far. I guess Triple C doesn't see it that way, that's why he's the coach and I'm not. Shoutout to Triple C for being behind the bench for his 50th career game tonight.

Pascal Leclaire will be back in net tonight, hoping to shake off Tuesdays game and regain his form. He has struggled the last few games, letting in multiple bad goals in each one. If we're to win, he will surely have to be a major factor.

Prediction: You've asked for it and tonight you finally get it, as I call a Sens loss 5-2. I simply think we're overmatched and they're the better team on this one at this point in the season. Plus I think Emery will be on his game tonight, to show us what we're missing. I'm just hoping it's a decent game and maybe we can steal a point if all goes well.

The game is at 7pm on TSN and The Team 1200

Thoughts on tonights game with the Broad Street Bullies?
