Did I become clairvoyant overnight? I mean I did ask for the ability to see in the future for Christmas, but it's still 2 weeks away. Forgive me if I'm feeling a bit excited today, for most of my past predictions didn't even come close to coming true. But tonight is different. I called Spezza and Kovie scoring in my GDP, plus I said the game would be much tougher then the final score indicated. Check and Check. So ok, I said 5-2, not 4-2 but don't be such a stickler. Let me have my brief moment. Now back to the game.
My thoughts on the game:
-How was it nice to see Kovie breakout and get the hatty, even if they may have been the ugliest 3 goals he will ever score. Getting him on a roll would be huge.
-Shoutout to Section 303 tonight, who were holding it down from puck drop to the final buzzer. They were chanting and signing all night long. Major props to whoever you guys were.
-What happened to Filip Kuba? I've been giving him some slack lately, figuring it would pass but he has been brutal lately. Let's hope he starts to pick it up soon.
-Nice to see we were fairly disciplined for once.
-Great to Spezza score, even if it was garbage. Hopefully this gets his confidence up.
-Sad to see only 16k at SBP tonight, especially on a Saturday against a winnable opponent.
-Man do I feel bad for Eric Staal.
-Brian Elliott did what he had to and got the win, but please don't play the puck anymore.
-Carolina has some bad unis. They are neck and neck with Nashville for worst in the league.
So we played well and then let them back in the game. For parts of it, we look uninterested, which is never good, but we got the 2 points and in a week that's all we will remember. Next up is the Battle of Ontario against a much improved TML sqaud. Until then I'm off to celebrate the win with a few adult beverages, cheers!

Good on Kovie and Spezza, and Foligno. We finally won a game that we deserved to win. That was a Leclaire like game by Elliot, a couple of bad goals and then some huge saves with the game on the line.
Also, were you not disgusted when some fans tried to get the "ole" chant going after we pulled ahead in the 3rd, thankfully it did not catch on.
Hopefully Kovie goes on a roll for 10 games before he goes back into a slump
They were not singing "ole ole"... they were singing "Kovie Kovie" using the same melody.
Kovalev seemed to appreciate anyway.
The gang in the 303 were pretty awesome actually.
Next up TML. They have been winning lots lately so I checked the standings and they are still 4th lol. I think half the reason they are winning games now is because teams don't take them seriously and think they can walk all over them. If the Sens take them seriously, we should win easily. I think stopping Kessel will be a walk in the park for Phillips and Volchenkov.
I will still Nay Say about Spezza. His missed his passes way too much for a player who is supposed to be a great passer. He also just threw the puck into the high slot way too often, since just about every time he did that it resulted in a turnover. I guess a goal and saving a goal more than makes up for it though.
Most of our other players played well. More great work by Foligno. Kelly and Winchester have looked very good the last couple of games.
Amelie is spot on, they were singing Kovie in the Ole theme
Not sure if i'm right, but i think the guys in 303 we're the RSA (real sens army). they have a facebook page...
Ah quite posibly, either way, i found them entertaining and good to see some enthusiasm and creativity
shoutout to RSA
