Fresh of what has to be called a surpising and dominant performance against Buffalo on Wednesday, the Sens head to the Garden State, looking for some revenge and hoping to avoid some NHL history. As always with New Jersey, the conversation begins with Marty Brodeur, who will become the NHL's all time leader is games played for a goalie tonight, when he stands between the pipes for the 1,030th time in his career. He is also one shutout away from being the NHL's all time leader in career shutouts as well, so all I ask is that we please score one goal tonight to avoid being a footnote in his HOF speech.
Besides that, we all know what to expect from the Devils. A boring, trap filled game with Paris scoring and them holding on from the 2nd period on. Classic devil hockey.
On the Sens side, no changes to the lineup. Campoli will still be playing forward and Elliott makes his 15th straight start. On the injury front, Pacal Leclaire and Chris Neil are expected to be back for the Pittsburgh game on the 23rd, while Donovan is finally skating again too. Spezza is still out of the lineup with a bum knee, but is well enough to hobble around Holt Renfrew this afternoon, looking for some holiday presents. Ya that's right Spezz, the Mayor has people everywhere.
Prediction: Jersey is 8-2 in their last 10 and are difficult to beat even with all our players, but for no reason whatsoever, I'm feeling good about our chances tonight. Sens win 3-1. Sorry Marty, your record will have to wait for another day.
Thoughts?

Was that Kovalev, on New Jersey's 2nd goal, who was in the shooting lane but saw that the shot was about to be taken and opened his legs to let the puck through? That confirms that he puts himself before the team. We have already seen this though, since he seems more concerned with deking people than scoring and generally only plays inspired hockey when he is mad.
God damn Karlsson AGAIN!!!
He misses a breakaway and then doesnt take pandolfo in front of the net.
devils/sens = zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
another amazing crowd in jersey.
Teams in hamilton and quebec city would be bad why again?
Teams in Hamilton, Quebec city or Winnipeg would be bad because Gary's friends, I mean business associates, do not know where those cities are.
They are planning on having an outdoor game though to "increase exposure in Canada".
Looks like the Coyotes are going to be playing in Saskatchewan to subsidize there losses. If playing in a 13000 seat building instead of your own 20 000 (?) seat building helps you financially, THEY MUST BE OUT OF THEIR MINDS TO STAY IN PHEONIX. I don't understand how they can have better promotion when they are practically, and actually in some cases, giving away tickets.
Karlsson's composure and decision making with the puck has been greatly improving. Unfortunately he is still not strong enough to take someones stick or keep someone from driving to the net.
Hate to criticize the captain, but he has been missing the net way too often.
They don't have a PP quarterback but they should at least move around a bit more to make it somewhat difficult on the opposition PK.
If they benched Foligno, why hasn't Cheechoo been benched? Will this make Murray look bad? Or, do they just concede that he has nothing left and they aren't going to get anything else from him.
