.........cuz damn was that win satisfying. With all the key players out, on the road and in a shootout no less, especially after coughing up that 2-0 lead. Was great to take the 2 points from our division rival and has to have Buffalo wondering what they have to do to beat us. That's now 7 in a row against the slugs.
Thoughts from the game:
-Is there anyone better on the backhand then Kovalev?
-Good to see Neil get back on the scoreboard.
-Miller is my 1st half MVP
-Loved the BLo crowd giving the loud ovation when the Sabres registered their 1st shot late in the period.
-So we brought Karlsson back up and burned a year off his rookie deal to make him a healthy scratch? Genius!

i only started watching midway through the second (by the sounds of things when it all started to go badly).....but after the sabres tied it up i realised the only way we were going to win this was in a shootout because we had absolutely zero offensive penetration from then on (thats what happens without alfie, spezza and foligno). Nevertheless, our penalty killing and defensive play was excellent (with the exception of that one goal)...and as you put it Mr. Mayor...a very satisfying win.
p.s. where did early season michalek go?
I think Michalek will always be a streaky player which is why he is not a star.
Should Cheechoo not be able to bury his chances once in a while when he happens to get them.
Hopefully Kovalev is motivated by not making the Russian squad.
