Sens Win In Shooout (No Seriously They Do)

Check your calendars if you want, I swear it isn't April 1st. I wouldn;t blame you for checking given the title of the post game wrap up. The Sens took the lead 3 separate times before winning in a shootout to bring their all time record to 13-27 in the skill competition.

It was nice to see the Sens finally get the 2 points and Jason Spezza get on the scoring board again, netting is 3rd of the year. Poor Brian Elliott who got one of the worst bounces of all time on the first goal and then let in 2 others he could have had, especially the 3rd one. I'm not sure what his deal is this year, if he's fatigued or not mentally there but he sure has been struggling. Let's hope this is a sign he's turning things around.

So the Sens end the roadie with a 1-3-1 record, good for 3 out of a possible 10 points, which isn't good. Did anyone notice that all 5 teams we played on this roadie sported black jerseys? Kind of a weird coincidence and proof that people who run teams have no creativity whatsoever.

So we fly back tomorrow with a win under our belts to get ready for the big division game with MTL on tuesday at SBP. It didn't go the way we hoped but at least we got the W tonight and the team seemed to show some more heart against the Ducks.

Thoughts on tonights game?

The Sens showed a better effort tonight but still turned the puck over way too many times.
Sometimes it just seems like they are not on the same page. Did have better positioning though tonight.

Someone also has to teach these defense when to pinch and when not to, Carker. They would not need to pinch as much if the puck was not just thrown around the boards with no one along the wall on the opposite side.

Can't wait to get Leclaire back.

I was still not thrilled with Spezza's game but hopefully that gives him some confidence and he can really get going.

Disastrous road trip. At least they got 2 points from a team that was brutal in every way. Officiating was just like SC finals with same two teams: Some calls here and there, but nothing when players yards from the puck (see Volchenkov) were tackled.

So many things to work on before the Habs game...where to start?

If there's no way Brodeur is getting into the net, why not just have random relatives sit there with famous goalie names on their jerseys during games? It would be good to see guys named Roy, Dryden, Sawchuk, Hextall, Resch, Fuhr, Bower, Plante, etc warming the Sens bench as good luck charms.
Let's see if the Sens can locate a Palmateer or a Vanbiesbrouck!
