Spezza Out 4 to 6 Weeks?

That's the word as of now. He didn't practice today and he said he heard his knee pop when a Leaf player feel on top of him after a faceoff with 30 seconds to go last night. Despite him not scoring, this is not good news at all for the Sens, who have a lot of games to play in the next while and need a number 1 centre. I know he's frustrating but on a Joni Mitchell tip, you don't know what you got til it's gone. One thing that's for sure is it's likely related to him selling his house, right conspiracy theorists? Josh Hennessy has been recalled from Binghamton to take his roster spot, not good news.

Thoughts?

Yeah, Lee and Spezza will be placed on IR and traded to a team with cap issues. Then said team keeps them on IR until they have built up the cap relief to put them in the lineup.

With Spezza out I expect the Sens will play like and 0-2-3 or something. Really though, I heard Phillips missed practice, is he hurt?

I tend to think right now Phillips is the player the Sens can least afford to lose.

TSN now says more like 8 and if that probably means he will not be back until after the Olympics. He has not helped the Sens very much this year but not having him will hurt us. I don't think we have anyone that can step in and take Spezza's minutes.

On an unrelated note, after seeing Kovie on OTR at least we now know why he does not play that hard. The reason is because he is trying to pace himself so that he can play 2000 games.
