You know it's hockey season officially, when the Battle of Ontario happens. Tonight, the Sens are in Toronto, hoping for a much better performance than last night's season opener against Buffalo, a 2-1 loss.
As a whole, the Sens played terribly last night, taking too many penalties, not skating hard enough, and hardly generating any chances. Having said that, at leats they only lost 2-1. The positive is that Leclaire had a pretty solid game, stopping 34 of 36, earning him the start again tonight at the ACC. No word on if Spezza will be playing yet or not, but I'd say he sits out if I were a betting man, you know, if gambling was legal.
So assuming Spezza is out tonight, the lineup will the same as yesterday, which didn't do us too well, though tonight is a new night. Perhaps it was just opening night jitters, ya I'm gonna go with that.
For Toronto, JS Giguere will get the call again in net, after a really nice opening night performance against the Habs on Thursday. Other key guys to watch out for are Kessel, Versteeg and Grabovski. Though the Leafs don't pack much scoring punch, but they do have a decent defence and always will play hard, hence their many garbage jam in goals. Another key is to stay out of the penalty box tonight, as the Leafs score many of their goals with the man advantage.
Prediction: The Sens are the better team, but all bets are off when the Battle of Ontario takes place. The Leafs will play hard at home, and the Sens will be tired after playing last night, but I can't see the Sens playing the way they did last night again. Sens get back on track and win 4-2.
Game time is 7pm on HNIC and available in HD.
