GDP #5: Sens @ MTL

The Sens are in la belle province tonight, as they take on the Habs in Montreal on hockey night in Canada at 7pm. This isn't a must win by any means, but we've already lost both divisional games this year, so getting on the board in that way would be nice.

For the Habs, Carey Price will get the start again, and seems to have calmed down a bit and steadied his play. For the Sens, Brian Elliott takes over for the injured Pascal Leclaire, with super prospect Robin Lehner being called up from Bingo to back him up, fresh off letting in SEVEN last night in the AHL.

The lines for tonight are:
  • Michalek-Spezza-Alfredsson
  • Shannon-Regin-Kovalev
  • Foligno-Fisher-Neil
  • Ruutu-Kelly-Winchester

That of course means that Zack Smith will be a healthy scratch yet again for some reason. The D pairings remain the same as last game.

Prediction: The Sens and Habs always play spirited games and look for Kovalev to have a big game tonight in his return to the Bell Centre. If we play the way we have for the last 2 games, we should get the W. At this point it depends what team decides to show up. I'm going for the latter, Sens win 3-1.

Lackluster effort by the Sens. I think their unwillingness to dump the puck in really cost them today. They turned the puck over at Montreal's blue line so many times, and being lazy and just flipping out of the zone too.

Maybe B.M. could convince Darryle Sutter that Kovalev can play centre.
