GDP #6: Sens @ Pens

The Sens are back at it tonight, as they make their first appearance at the new Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, hoping to put an ugly start to the season behind them and get back on track against Crosby, Malkin and company. This should be a good game, and offers the Sens a chance to get some minor revenge for last years playoff loss to the Pens. This will also mark Sergei Gonchar's first game back to the team he called home for numerous years, hopefully the Pens fans do him right and give him a nice ovation, which I'm sure they will.

For the Sens the lineup will remain the same, which is somewhat puzzling to me. Why does Ryan Shannon or Jesse Winchester remain in constantly over Zack Smith, who once again will be a healthy scratch. If we have a chance to turn things around, we will need much better efforts from guys who have started the season underachieving, like Kovalev, Karlsson and Phillips. Brian Elliott starts in net. Puck drop is 7pm.

Prediction: It's hard to predict which Senators team will show up so far this early season, the one that gets worked by the Leafs, the one that looks great against Carolina, or the one that seems disinterested for most of the other games. I see the Sens dropping another one tonight, losing 5-2. My record so far this year is 2-3 with 0 correct scores predicted.
