PGW: 1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back

Just when you think we may have turned a corner, this happens. What a total pathetic effort on home ice in a huge game. We just didn't show up period. I'm embarassed.

Thoughts?

I think is a tad off... We had effort but Montreal is a faster team and beat us hands down as a faster team. In the 2nd period we showed a little more muster as we were able to change strategies and battle the turnovers in the middle of the ice with a smarter game plan. All around I think they just outplayed us in skill not anything else.

Here's a crazy one. I'm completely ok with being a bad team this year. As a Sens and a hockey fan, I can accept that we won't be the best every night and we won't be the best every year. Furthermore, I can accept that we will sometimes be the worst. As long as we're not the worst for many nights in a row or many years in a row. I'll always be a Sens fan because I'm passionate about my team.

there were a few times when we looked hesitant to make a play on a puck for lack of speed or poor positioning or whatever.
IMO, Elliott's softies from friday were in the heads of the sens which made our guys look slow when they were simply indecisive.
the sens looked afraid to make a mistake and montreal got into our heads.
as bad as the leafs game, or the pens game

dude, accepting major suckage and being let down by your team is totally pussying out on being a fan. You have to hold your team to higher standards. Why? because they are charging you money to go and see them play, and charging you money to wear the logo etc. Also, as a loyal fan, they owe it to you to play better then that. Dont accept being the worst! thats not doing anybody any favours.

I was at the game last night, and ill take the small wins i saw. Zach Smith was called up, and he did add some much needed intensity. I think that our older players dont really have what it takes now to play back to back games, so that means our younger players need to step up. Foligno needs to start playing better, and i think that we could use a little youth help. try and call up some players in the AHL playing well (either o'brien or butler) just for a game to see how they do. 1 last thing Karlsson to the 3rd D line hes not playing well at all, take some pressure off.

the Smith line was terrible

Disgusting play. They don't deserve any more of my hard earned money until they put out a lot more effort.

Foligno has done little to show he's better than a 4th liner. If he was on a 2 way he would have been sent to Bingo by now. Regin is only slightly better but he'd better start scoring some goals or he'll be a trade throw-in.

IMO, all players who would be RFA at the end of their deal should be on 2 way contracts and not subject to waiver rules. That way the team would get the maximum value from them until they mature as players. These guaranteed NHL contracts for young guys who don't perform are hurting the game.

I was at the game in Buffalo and Foligno was a force all game. I disagree that he should be sent down.

Clearly the team was tired from their 1,000 pnt festivities and travels home from Buff the night before. The next game will be fine.

Take a chill pill people.
