This is a hockey site, dedicated mostly to the Ottawa Senators. Many of us, myself included, act like what happens with the Sens is a matter of life and death, but of course it isn't. In fact, in the grand scheme of things, it's really unimportant.
The real things we should focus on are real life issues, and the people who allow us the freedom to do whatever we want in our lives, like become a doctor, a firefighter, or write a fairly inconspicuous blog about a local hockey team.
There have been many sacrifices made by many great people, that have helped us arrive at where we are today, and with today being November 11th, it's time to pay tribute to those that gave so much.
Now this is a hockey site, and I don't want to get all political or preachy on you, but we wouldn't even be able to watch hockey games if it wasn't for the many brave soldiers who gave their lives, so we had the choice to do whatever we chose.
So when you're going about your day today, take a moment and reflect on what was done for you, so you're able to live with the freedom that most of us take for granted on a daily basis. I've thought about the right way to honor our veterans all week and the best thing I came up with was the simplest one. Thank you!
