GDP #22: Sens V North Stars

The Sens are going for their 2nd win in a row, as they take on the Minnesota North Stars, I mean Dallas Stars tonight at 7:30pm at SBP. Gone are the days where the Turko's and Modano's formed Dallas' core, and as a result, they have suffered. But they have the same amount of wins as we do, so not to take them lightly.

For the Sens, Pascal Leclaire gets the start again, which means one thing, the game will be interesting in some fashion at least. Sitting out tonight will be Brian Lee yet again, and Erik Karlsson for the 2nd straight game, and yes it is a healthy scratch, not the flu. The lines for tonight will look like this:
  • Michalek-Spezza-Alfie
  • Shannon-Regin-Kovalev
  • Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
  • Foligno-Fisher-Winchester

and the defensive pairings will be:

  • Kuba-Gonchar (softest pairing in the NHL?)
  • Phillips-Campoli
  • Hale-Carkner

Interesting to see some movement in our lineup. Ryan Shannon has moved up to the 2nd line, while Fisher is still down on the 4th. Triple C also decided to restore some of your more usual lines on the first and third units. Will Nick Foligno ever score?

For Dallas, former Bruin, former Leaf, former Canuck and former decent goalie Andrew Raycroft gets the call for the Stars in net tonight. The Dallas lines will look like this:

  • Neal-Richards-Eriksson
  • Morrow-Ribeiro-Benn
  • Barch-Ott-Petersen
  • Sutherby-Wandell-Burish

and their D pairings will be:

  • Grossman-Robidas
  • Skrastins-Niskanen
  • Woywitka-Daley

Prediction: These two teams are fairly equal in my opinion, at least right now. Dallas is coming off an embrassing 4-1 loss to the Leafs, while the Sens were lucky to get a win against the Kings on Monday night. The Stars are only 5-4-1 in their last 10, but we're only 6-4 in that same span. It all comes down to our ability to stay out of the penalty box tonight, and for Leclaire to play a decent game. Sens win 4-2.
