What a busy day for an off day. It may have been Monday, which is usually the slowest day of the week, but not this time, as there was no shortage of news to report, so let's jump into it shall we.
-First off, in case you missed it, Pascal Leclaire is good to go and will back up Elliott in Tdot later today. I imagine that while cleared physically, he won't start until he's been able to get his rythym back and practice more.
-Rumor has it Nick Foligno got a scolding from GM Bryan Murray after Saturday's shutout loss to the B's. Despite a hot pre-season, Nicky boy has yet to score so far this season after signing a new 2 year deal that gave him a substantial raise.
-Alfie left practice yesterday with a small injury, but I'm told it wasn't major and he will play against the Leafs.
-In other injury news, Milan Michalek will be out a week to 10 days. This guy's luck is almost as bad as Snoopy's.
-Former Sen and local boy Shean Donovan may get another chance in the NHL after all. He spent the offseason hoping for a call that never came, but has now signed a tryout contract with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, the Anaheim farm team. Let's hope Chum gets one more go, such a good guy.
-In somewhat good news, it appears Filip Kuba is close to returning and may play Thursday or Saturday.
-And finally, it seems former Senator Brian McGrattan is not to fond of former teammate Chris Neil. When asked about the fight Neil got in on Saturday with his now teammate Denis Sidenberg, McGrattan insulted Neil many times and said he had to save him many times when he was with the Sens.
