Sens Drop B's

Now THAT is what I'm talking about. The Sens played arguably their best game of the year, controlling the Bruins from puckdrop to the final horn. In fact if it wasn't for Tim Thomas and some good luck, the Sens might have won by 5 or 6, instead settling for a nice 2-0 road win shutout in Boston. The whole team played well tonight, with Erik Karlsson and Alfie getting the goals. What a great way to start the roadie and a great way to bounce back after the bad game on Thursday.

Other thoughts from the game:
  • Karlsson's stache is horrible, it makes him look even more Euro, if that's even possible.
  • Kovalev played decent again, though he didn't get any points so still at 998.
  • Elliott was very solid. Pascal will be on the becnh for awhile.
  • Kuba was ok in his return, didn't play great, didn't blow it. In other words he was Kuba.
  • Awesome to see Neil challenge and fight Chara even if the fight wasn't great.
  • Campoli couldn't drop 42 yr old Recchi? Ouch!
  • Remember when Lucic was supposed to be the next Cam Neely? Ya about that....not happening.
  • Don't know what's going on with Spezza but he's playin ghard lately and it's great to watch.
  • Winchester played a really nice game I thought.

With the shutout and all around solid play all night, Brian Elliott wins the night in his 100th career NHL game.

Thoughts on the game?

I still want to see leclaire play better than elliot because I believe leclaire is the better goalie, but its awesome to see elliot play so well. foligno had a good game, but I thought that this year he would be a 20-25 goal scorer. He has been underperforming all season and I cant wait to see him playing up to his potential. Spezza needs to replace fisher on the first line, spezza is obviously the better player.

Trade Foligno while his "potential" might still have some value.
