GDP #32: Sens V ATL

The Senators are back it at tonight, trying to win 2 in a row, when they take on the much improved Atlanta Thrashers at SBP at 7:30pm. It was another wild week in Sens Town, as we blew a win against the Rangers, barely hung on to beat New Jersey, and had Kovalev complaining about his treatment from the coaching staff. In other words, it was a normal week for the Sens.

The lines for tonight will be:
  • Michalek-Spezza-Alfie
  • Foligno-Fisher-Kovalev
  • Ruutu-Kelly-Neil
  • Regin-Winchester-Shannon

Brian Elliott will start in goal for the Sens and Ondrej Pavelec for the Thrashers, who is quietly having an amazing year this season. I mean just check his ridiculous GAA and Save %.

Prediction: The Thrashers will be one of the teams battling for 8th spot this year, and if we have any shot at making the playoffs, we will have to beat them out, so it's a big 2 points on the line tonight in Kanata. This year it sure has been a mystery as to how we'll play each game, but one thing has been a constant, a lack of goalscoing, which isn't a good problem to have when facing one of the league's best goalies. Sens really need these 2 points, so I'm hoping they come out with a much better fight this time and show some heart. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, Sens win 3-2.

Thoughts?
