GDP #34: Sens @ Nordiques

The Sens are in Colorado, for the 2nd game of a back to back, hoping to extend their win streak to 2 games, though I suppose 1 game isn't even really a win streak is it? Reminder this game is a 9pm puck drop.

The Avalanche should be a tough test for our defense and goaltending, as they currently rank 2nd in the NHL in scoring. Hopefully we keep this a low scoring affair, as we don't have the horses to compete in a high scoring game. Luckily for us, Colorado has Stewart, Hejduk and Stastny all out with injuries tonight.

For the Sens, it will be the same lineup as last night in Minny, though there is still a small chance that Carkner might play in place of Brian Lee. I say let Lee play. Pascal Leclaire starts in net again.

Prediction: The fathers are still on the trip, so it's hard to pick against the Sens, especially with Hasse Alfredsson handing out those celebratory high fives like it ain't no thing. If we played the way we played last night, a W is possible again. I'm picking the Sens, they win 4-3.

Thoughts?

We won that game if Leclaire actually started, and made it through 60 minutes. Unfortunately, Elliot has lost his confidence, and is about as effective as a plywood cutout in the shape of a human goalie these days.
