Like A Boss
In case you missed the minor controversy from Friday night's game against New York, here you go. Robin Lehner got a 2 minute minor for this, which made it almost a full 2 minutes of 5 on 3 pp time, which lead to the winning goal. Lehner contends that Poulin was yelling at him, while Poulin denies it ever happened.
I'm going to go ahead and side with Lehner on this for several reasons: 1) He doensn't have a history of fighting or causing problems ( warranted post game interview at the World Jr's exluded ). 2) Why would he just hit a guy out of nowhere? 3) He's Swedish, they aren't trouble makers. 4) I'm drinking the Lehner kool aid pretty heavy these days and think he can do no wrong. 5) It was entertaining and awesome to see him be so fiesty, even if it cost us. Not like it was game 7 of the finals or anything. 6) Maybe he was aware the Isles were behind us in the standings and wants to help us get that #1 overall pick.
It will be interesting to see if he starts tonight against the Canucks. Thoughts on the "incident"?

It gave the Islander's a 5 on three, so at first I wasn't too happy. However, the first period gave the Islander's 3 goals. So, now I'm thinking that it is good to see some edge in somebody.
I love the spunk it showed. Maybe next time he should keep his elbow down, but I still love it. No ill will even though it cost Ottawa the game. And his amazing series of saves rolling around on the ice (just before they scored the game winner) made up for taking an unnecessary penalty.
Love it! It's pretty clear Poulin was saying something to him him as he went past, even though he denies it. It's good to see at least one player show some fire. And He didn't cost us the game, the three s#!t goals Elliot let in did.
