Finally......Andre Petersson Has Come Back...To Ottawa

After being drafted nearly 3 years ago, Swedish prospect Andre Petersson has finally signed an ELC to join the Ottawa Senators system officially. He is definitely a guy who plays hard and has some skill, but unfortunately for him, he lacks the size to likely be an impact player in the NHL at 5'9 and 170lbs.

Drafted in the 4th round in 2008 109th overall, he played this season in the Swedish Elite League with HV71, dropping 28 points in 78 games. The 20 year old has signed a 3 year deal, and will play in North America next season, almost certainly with the Binghamton Senators.

Congrats to Andre for finally signing with the Sens. Just the latest in a ridiculous amount of news that went down today. You may remember him when he played for Team Sweden at the World Juniors in Ottawa a few years ago. I've almost been impressed with his style of play and work ethic.

Thoughts on the signing?

He is going to be a very good AHL player. He will struggle at first just like say Roman Wick did but he will be good. He just needs to put some meat on his body and play smart to be able to play in the NHL. He should be pulling out the tapes on Tyler Ennis and Nathan Gerbe on how to play at the NHL level effectively.
