Sens Ink Cannone

Newly signed Sens prospect Pat Cannone celebrating a goal on Miami University
The Senators have reached out and signed another collegiate free agent, inking Miami of Ohio's Pat Cannone to an entry level deal this afternoon. The deal is a bit weird, as it's only for one season, which is quite unusual, but perhaps some flexibiity on both sides. He will be assigned to Binghamton immediately to finish the season out in the AHL.

Cannone is only 5'11 and 192 lbs, which isn't very big by NHL standards, but he did have 14 goals and 23 helpers good for 37 points in the NCAA this season in 39 games, which I suppose is good? I'm not that impressed but I assume this another depth move by BM the GM.

Apparently we are also on the verge of signing Andre Petersson to a deal too if what I've been told is corerct, just a heads up.

Thoughts on the signing?

I think it's probably a one-year deal because of his age... he's three years older than Da Costa, so he probably couldn't sign a deal longer than the one year.

Can't wait for your reaction when the Sens sign Caporusso (11G, 20A, 40GP and 5'10, 188lbs) because you know, stats tell the whole story.
