GDP #11: Sens @ NYR

The Senators are back it today in NYC, this time in an afternoon affair starting at 3pm, at the world's most famous arena, looking to make it a remarkable and very surprising 5 wins in a row. The last 3 have all come either at the last second or in extra time, so let's hope the Senators can get it done in regulation before the drama catches up with them.

Bobby Butler has been cleared to play, but will not play at MSG today. It appears they've decided to give him a bit more rest to heal, plus you can't exactly find a place for him at the moment with the team rolling and him being a healthy scratch at times already this year.

For the Rangers expect Henrik Lundqvist in net. He is definitely one of the league's top goalies and would have a few Vezina's to his name if his team was able to score more. Given the win streak, one would imagine that Craig Anderson starts for the Sens.

Here's a look at some of the changes that MSG has gone under in its 850 million dollar renovation, including a preview of the Rangers new dressing room.

Here are the projected lines:
  • Greening-Spezza-Michalek
  • Foligno-Da-Costa-Alfredsson
  • Condra-Smith-Neil
  • Winchester-Konopka-Daugavins

and the defensive pairings:
  • Rundblad-Phillips
  • Gonchar-Cowen
  • Kuba-Karlsson

Local Flavor: None for today, unless you want to count Wade Redden, who is playing for their farm team and robbing them of 6.5 million again this year.

Tv: CBC at 3pm

Prediction: It continues to amaze me that we keep winning when you look at our lineup and when you consider Anderson hasn't been standing on his head, so I keep expecting it to stop, but it hasn't. This team may lack talent, but the stars are playing very well and the rest of the gang refuse to ever quit. No lead is safe, for or against us. The Rangers aren't playing that well at the moment at just 3-3-2 this year, but Lundqvist is always tough to beat, especially at home. Then take into consideration that Marc Staal is out and offseason coup Brad Richards isn't killing it yet and I can find reasons to talk myself into a Sens win. Then add in that the Sens won both games at MSG last year and I'm even more confident, which makes me think I'm a jonx and we might be due for a stinker. Nevertheless, you can't pick against the Sens during a win streak. Sens take it 3-2.

Record this season: 7-3 with zero correct score predicted

You may be expecting the wrong goalie in net... Rumor out of Binghamton has Lehner leaving after last night's game in a limo headed for NYC

Redden is not robbing them, they gave it to him :) Just sayin' :)
