Karlsson Breaks Franchise Record
With 2 assists in the game last night against the Washington Capitals, Erik Karlsson brought his season total to 47 and passed Norm MacIver for most in franchise history in a year by a defenceman. MacIver did it all the back in the 1992-93 season, which of course was our first in franchise history and I think we can all agree that the game was a whole lot different back then.
This will likely be the first of many franchise topping feats by the 21 year old Swede, who now has 60 points, just 3 back of MacIver's 63, which is top for points in a season by a dman and put EK in the top 10 in NHL scoring, and incredible 20 points ahead of the next closest defenceman. Congrats to EK on the milestone.
