Sens Acquire Tallest Goalie Of All Time For A 2nd Rounder

The Senators jumped trade deadline day early and pulled the trigger on a trade this morning instead, acquiring goalie prospect Ben Bishop from the St Louis Blues in exchange for a 2013 2nd rounder. Bishop, who is 25, is also the tallest goalie to ever play in the NHL at 6'7. He is a highly rated goalie prospect and the move adds some solid netminder depth to the orgnaiztion. Bishop is 24-14 this season so far with a .928 save % and was named an AHL All Star. I like the move a lot.

Have your say. Good move or don't like it?

It seems at least one analyst and coach think we just robbed St Louis. Sounds like a very good move to me. Shrewd BM, very shrewd.

I think it's a brilliant move by BM the GM... but it's actually a 2013 2nd round pick, since we don't have one in 2012.
