Shane Prince Player Diary Entry #1

I want to start of by saying hello to all of the fans and people who follow this blog, and I am very excited to be a part of this. Now on to my first post as I recap the week that was for me. Hope you guys like it.

My cousins back home with their hockey sticks
Last weekend I suffered a minor injury to my elbow in my game against London on Saturday, so I was forced to miss our game in Guelph on Sunday and our game Wednesday in Kingston. Due to this injury I was able to go back to my home in Rochester for a couple days during the week to kind of regroup and see some family. While I was home I still skated just to keep in shape and stay fresh for my anticipation of a return to the lineup Friday night vs Niagara. When I was done doing my drills I was able to work with my younger cousins and teach them a few things. I even managed to convince my Aunt to buy them new sticks with new curves.

My time home was fun but it was time to head back to Ottawa Thursday and practice and get focused for my game the next day vs. Niagara, which was a huge game, a battle for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. We were one point behind Niagara heading into the game but unfortunately we didn't play our best and lost 5-1. I had the lone goal for our squad with a shot from the top of the right faceoff circle that beat Visentin over the shoulder.

The shoe wall at Norml
Saturday was just a practice day for the 67's and after practice I went downtown for a a bit and shopped at Norml, my favorite store in Ottawa. I love my shoes and that store has some good ones. After my day of practice and shopping, I headed home to my billets house for dinner and went to bed early because we played at 2pm on Sunday vs Mississauga, who hasn't allowed a goal against in the past 2 games.

My Jordan cement 4's I wore
Sunday didn't go so well. We lost the matchup 6-3. It was a good  game and the score was 2-2 for a bit and then our team kind of crumbled. I had our first goal and an assist in this one. I had a lot of friends and family at the game, so it was fun to play in front of them. Afterwards I went to Johnny Farina's with a few friends for dinner.

We have to come out hard next weekend. It's the last weekend of the regular season before we head into playoffs. We have Sudbury at home Friday and then in Niagara Saturday followed by a game in Brampton Sunday.
I hope everyone can come out and support me and the team. Thanks for reading my first entry and I'll be back next Monday with another post.
