It was all but official anyways, but today the news broke that Sens prospect Nikita Filatov has signed a 2 year deal with Salavat Yulaev of the KHL in Russia. This ends the gamble the Senators took on him at last year's draft, at least temporarily. Filatov is only 21 years old if you can believe it and still has some potential, though it's hard to imagine at this point that he can contribute in the NHL. He will be a restricted free agent on July 1st and the Sens must give him a qualifying offer if they wish to retain his rights. If they will or not is anyone's guess at this point.
Do you think we will ever see Filatov in a Sens uniform again?
