Turris Signs 5 Year Extension
In news that basically came out of nowhere, the Senators announced that they have signed forward Kyle Turris to a 5 year extension today, keeping him in the mix until 2017-18. The deal is worth 17.5 million dollars, or 3.5 per year, which seems fairly reasonable to me and a rarity in the NHL these days, an actual fair deal for both parties.
Turris, who just turned 23 a couple of weeks ago, had 29 points in 55 games last year after being acquired from Phoenix in exchange for David Rundblad. His most memorable moment as a Sen was his game 4 OT winner from the playoffs when he sniped one in the top corner past Lundqvist. You can send your congratulations to Kyle on twitter @KyleTurris and while you're there follow me too @SensTown
Thought on the deal? Thanks for reading.
