Daugavins And Gonchar Sign With KHL

The lockout is only a few days old but that didn't matter to 2 Ottawa Senators, as Kaspars Daugavins and Sergei Gonchar both found new homes quickly in the KHL. The Latvian Duagavins has signed on with his hometown team Dinamo Riga, where if you recall he had signed sort of as leverage against the Senators last year and should make his debut on Friday against Atlant Moscow.

Sergein Gonchar has signed on with Metallurg along with his fellow Russian and good friend Evgeni Malkin. Gonchar, who is entering the final year of his deal with the Sens and has been constantly in trade rumors, also played for Metallburg for 40 gamesd during the 2004-05 NHL lockout.

Both contracts are for one year and have out clauses to return to the NHL should the lockout end, which isn't likely in my opinion.
