Sens Finally Beat Bruins In Boston, Clinch 7th Seed, Will Play Montreal In 1st Round
They didn't do it the easy way, but this years edition of the Ottawa Senators wouldn't have had it any other way. The notoriously pesky squad needed an extra day of the season to figure out who they would play in their first round matchup. They jumped out to a 2 goal lead, but gave up a goal with just 3.4 seconds left in the 2nd and another just 14 seconds into the 3rd to have the game squared up.
With just a few minutes left and facing the possibility of playing Boston or the number 1 seeded Penguins in the first round, rookie JG Pageau scored with 3:34 left to put Ottawa ahead, a lead they wouldn't give up this time. Kyle Turris added an empty netter and the Sens won 4-2, securing the 7th seed and a first round match up with the Montreal Canadiens.
Robin Lehner was excellent and the team played very hard in front of him. Special props goes out to Chris Neil for fighting Milan Lucic and handling the beast of a man he is. Thanks for reading and follow on twitter @SensTown
