A few of the Sens took time out before their St Patrick's Day tilt against Winnipeg to get festive. From left to right it's Mika Zibanejad, Kaspars Daugavins, Ben Bishop, Erik Condra and Jim O'Brien all donned a St Paddy's Day jersey and some amazingly cheesy hats.

It isn't a problem many will have too much sympathy for, it's like being too good looking or too rich, but at the moment, having too much goalie talent is just that. The media and fans have said that it's a good problem to have and to an extent that's true, but a problem is never a good thing, even when it's this type of scenario. That's why it's called a problem after all.
So far, all three of the netminders involved in the playing time triangle are all saying the right things, which is nice and expected, but deep down I'm sure all three are feel deserving of being with the big club this season, and you know what, none of them are wrong. It's great to be a good teammate and all of those other tired cliches, but if any of them were satisfied with not being #1 I'd be worried.

If you're a fan of Corey Locke or Ben Bishop, or just happen to like Sens memerobilia then this is for you. The AHL is auctioning off game worn jerseys from the 2012 AHL All Star Skills competition and there's 2 Senator related one's up for grabs. There's a Corey Locke Binghamton Senators game worn jersey and a Ben Bishop Peoria Rivermen game worn jersey. Both have a starting bid of $275. Happy bidding.

The Senators face a must win tonight in Tampa Bay after losing their past 2 games in the middle of a trying to secure a playoff spot, but you won't be seeing Robin Lehner in net this evening. Despite playing very well the past 4 games, Robin Lehner has been reassigned to Bingahmton and newly acquired metminded Ben Bishop has been called up to the show and will get the start tonight. Bishop is widely regarded as one of the top goalies in the AHL and the most NHL ready goalie in the minors. One thing we do know is it's safe to say that Alex Auld has become more than an afterthought in the Sens plans.

The Senators jumped trade deadline day early and pulled the trigger on a trade this morning instead, acquiring goalie prospect Ben Bishop from the St Louis Blues in exchange for a 2013 2nd rounder. Bishop, who is 25, is also the tallest goalie to ever play in the NHL at 6'7. He is a highly rated goalie prospect and the move adds some solid netminder depth to the orgnaiztion. Bishop is 24-14 this season so far with a .928 save % and was named an AHL All Star. I like the move a lot.
Have your say. Good move or don't like it?
