Remember that shot that hit Anderson in the head in the 2nd that shook him up? He lost a tooth somehow as a result. Here's a pic of #41 post game via the man himself. And here's a full face version via Ian Mendes' twitter. #BeastMode

In a bit of an odd turn of events, the least likely member of the Ottawa Senators to join the social networking site Twitter, has done just that. None other than the one and only Daniel Alfredsson is the latest Sens player to join. So far he's amassed close to nineteen thousand followers in about a day, but has only tweeted twice. He's following 8 so far and hopefully at some point I can get him to follow me. So Sens fans, give #11 a follow @DAlfredsson11 and follow me while you're at it too @SensTown

Now I don't want to say that this idiot speaks for the real Sens fans out there for even a second, but after Saturday's defeat to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Sens fan Mike Smyth took to twitter and spewed this racist garbage towards the Leafs Nazem Kadri, who of course is Muslim and had a hat trick in the 4-0 win over Ottawa.
You have to really question the type of person who is 2013 publicly makes racist statements on such a public forum. Who knows what he must say in private or actually think in his head. Remember Sens Army, it's just a game. Sure a rivalry is good, great even, but putting someone else down, especially in a racist manner, only makes you look foolish.
If there's any justice out there, someone out there will know this caveman and he will be publicly shamed, or lose his job. Spread the word if you can. Not cool at all. Sorry Mike, you've been dishonorably discharged from Sens Army. You're no longer welcome.

#Sens to place Kaspars Daugavins on waivers today
— Jay Grossman (@Jay_Grossman) March 26, 2013
And just like that he was gone, as Daugavins' agent Jay Grossman tweeted out he was being waived. The Daugman, The Rooster or whatever you want to call him was very well liked in the room so this was a bit of a shocker today. David Dziurzynski was also sent to Bingo today, which is leading everyone to believe the Sens are about to bring someone in and are making room for them.

Here's another sad potential fallout of the lockout, a veteran player like Daniel Alfredsson may never play again. What a shame it would be if the greatest Senator of all time went out like that. Bad thoughts on a Friday afternoon. Let's all hope they work it out and soon, though from what I keep hearing it doesn't even sound like they're remotely close at this point.

It's no doubt that the summertime is wedding season. I've been to one already and have another coming up. Hockey players are no exception when it comes to summertime bliss, in fact due to their schedules, they almost exclusively get married in the summer. With that in mind, it was no surprise that members of the Sens were at some weddings this past weekend, especially considering one of said wedding's was Ottawa's own Erik Karlsson's in Sweden. What was eyebrow raising worthy however, was some of the guests involved. The unusual guests after the jump.

Sens prospect Matt Puempel is the first to report that another Sens prospect, Darren Kramer has signed an entry level deal. No word on the term yet. This kid can do it all apparently. I will update when it becomes official.

It seems the Karlsson for the Norris Trophy campaign is starting to pick up more steam, especially in media outside of the capital finally. He's just having a season you can't ignore. This was the front page of the Yahoo sports page last night, accompanied by the article explaining why the award for the NHL's best defenceman should be coming to the 21 year old Senators player.
Ironically on the same night Darren Pang decided to tweet this ridiculousness, Karlsson was a +5 with 3 points in a 6-4 win against Winnipeg, bringing his lead to 27 points over Brian Campbell in defenceman scoring and drawing even in plus/minus with Shea Weber at +19.
Do you think Karlsson deserves the Norris Trophy as the league's top defenceman?

Sens captain Daniel Alfredsson will be out a minimum of a week after suffering a concussion on a cheap shot elbow to the head at the hands of the Rangers' Wolski on Saturday afternoon. Alfie, who missed the game on Sunday as well, will be re-evaluated in a weeks time, though there is no guarantee he will be back then. What a shame to happen to him of all people and the stunning part is there was no suspension handed out to Wolski after the NHL spent all pre season bombarding us with suspensions.

Mark Stone is having a pretty good summer. He was a big stand out at the junior camp earlier this offseason and last night he scored the OT winner to be the Leafs and claim the rookie tourney title. Well let's see what else the kid has up his sleeve on Twitter.

The Senators are offering the fans a chance to get in on some of the in game action at SBP this upcoming season. They are looking for suggestions for a new goal song to be played when the good guys score. It could be a cool opportunity for your pick to be starting a new tradition with the club. To suggest your pick click here.
